After living a year outside of Puerto Rico, I sometimes found myself nostalgically recalling details that I had forgotten about my childhood in the countryside. That said, I went to visit Puerto Rico as soon as possible and drove to La Casita Blanca, a restaurant that's aesthetically inspired by old countryside houses. It was there that I understood how they can remove the Boricua (Puerto Rican) from the Island, but never the plantain stain from their heart.

Luego de vivir un año fuera de Puerto Rico, a veces me encontraba recordando con nostalgia detalles que había olvidado de mi infancia en el campo. Esto dicho, fui a visitar a Puerto Rico lo antes posible y conduje a La Casita Blanca, un restaurante inspirado estéticamente en lo que sería una casa de campo. Fue allí que entendí cómo pueden sacar al Boricua de la Isla pero nunca la mancha 'e plátano de su corazón.
